In the era of social media when the world is in your palm, instant gratification and fame beacons you. But what gets gratified ?? Quality work or infamous publicity stunts.....

Immediate Fame’ by any means and ‘Instant Gratifications’ through ‘Social Media’ – is this the new recipe of ‘Societal Molotov Cocktail?’ As we see through the current events – one wonders what price the society and human values have to pay for the fast and huge technological advancements (let’s keep the coronavirus issues aside for a moment) which can take information’s (audios, videos) to a worldwide audience in a matter of seconds and even earn big bucks! We have been since long, hearing a lot about rat-race to build a fast-track career, to establish one’s personal & professional credibility in the society and the world at large and be someone to be reckoned with. However, this for some has changed from rat-race and speeded up into viral rage - to become instantly famous by any means. A certain section of the society seems to be either missing the point or very casual in realization that certain posts/share in the world of social media can actually be a big recipe for disaster, instead of ‘Instant Glory’. Can cause huge back-lash for personal, family and institutional pride and esteem. More astonishing is even after such misadventures, persons seems to be nonchalant and have no sign of remorse for the wrongdoings….but how come such gross irrationality and why ?? I still remember back in our school days one of the classes mandatory to be attended was that of ‘Moral Science’ (not that students’ like me, looked forward to it but couldn’t help….) and needless to say all our teachers did a wonderful job on that – somewhere maybe unconsciously it got into our DNA!…but really looking for an answer now when my kids are about to get into this current societal paradigm…after all the schooling and parental guidance what more should be done? What way and how far can we monitor attitudes and behavioural-psychology …or is it required? What’s coming up Next...!!!
